Enhancing Grinding Stability: Screw Feeder Integration with a Pin Mill
In powder processing systems, stable feeding and consistent grinding quality are essential for achieving efficient production. Our screw feeders are widely used for delivering powder materials directly into pin mills (impact mills), ensuring a continuous and controlled feed rate.
Stable Powder Feeding Is the Key to Efficient Pin Milling
Pin mills are used to pulverize powder materials into fine particles. However, to achieve consistent particle size and prevent clogging or uneven grinding, a steady and uniform feed is required.
Our screw feeders solve this challenge through:
・Tailor-made screw designs suited to each powder’s properties
・Adjustable speed control to maintain a consistent feeding rate
・Hopper and screw structures designed to minimize bridging and clogging
・These features contribute to stable operation of the pin mill, improved product uniformity, and reduced downtime due to feeding issues.
Case Example: Direct Connection to a Pin Mill Inlet

In one recent application, a client integrated our screw feeder directly with the inlet of a pin mill. Powder is automatically transferred from the storage hopper to the pin mill through the screw feeder, allowing for precise flow control and a fully automated process.
As shown in the installation photo, the outlet of the screw feeder is directly connected to the inlet of the pin mill, enabling smooth powder transfer without manual handling. This system has improved product consistency and contributed to automated powder processing with fewer operator interventions.
At Seiwa Giken, we specialize in custom powder feeding systems for rotary kilns and other thermal processing equipment. Whether your application involves fine, cohesive powders or requires strict feeding accuracy, we offer tailored solutions for stable and reliable operation.
