Achieving Accurate Powder Bagging with a Screw Feeder and Scale System — Dust Control Included
In powder processing applications, the combination of a screw feeder and a scale is a proven solution for achieving accurate and stable feeding. At Seiwa Giken, we have extensive experience in manufacturing customized systems that integrate these components, tailored to the specific needs of each customer.
When working with powder materials—many of which can be difficult to handle due to poor flowability or dust generation—precision and consistency are essential. Accurate weighing and smooth bagging require a system designed with the material characteristics in mind.
Custom Bag Clamp for Stable Feeding and Dust Collection Port for Clean Operation
In one of our recent projects, we developed a system equipped with a custom-made bag clamp that allows the operator to easily and securely fix the bag in place. This greatly reduces the chance of misalignment, material spillage, or the need for rework, and also helps streamline the overall process.
In addition, a dust collection port has been installed near the discharge point to prevent powder dust from escaping during filling. By connecting the port to an external dust collector, customers can maintain a clean, safe, and operator-friendly working environment—an essential consideration when handling powder materials.

The photo below shows an actual setup we designed and built, combining a screw feeder and scale into a compact and user-friendly system. Key features such as the bag clamp and dust collection port are clearly visible, reflecting our attention to detail and usability in real production settings.
High-Precision Feeding with Dual-Stage Control
The screw feeder can deliver materials in both bulk (coarse) and fine (trimming) modes by adjusting the rotation speed. This allows precise control of the feed rate, especially when used in combination with a scale. As a result, the system can achieve highly accurate filling per bag, reducing material loss and improving product consistency.
These systems are widely used in a variety of powder handling fields, including food additives, metal powders, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, and plastic resins. They are especially effective for materials with challenging characteristics, such as low flowability or high cohesiveness.
Tailor-Made Solutions for Your Powder Handling Needs
At Seiwa Giken, we design each screw feeder × scale system based on customer requirements—taking into account the type of powder, desired accuracy, bag shape, and workspace conditions. Optional features such as compact layouts, sanitary construction, and easy-to-clean designs are available for food and pharmaceutical applications.
We are committed to helping our clients improve productivity, ensure quality, and maintain a clean working environment through innovative powder handling systems. For more information, technical drawings, or additional photos of past projects, please feel free to contact us.
